5 Steps to Overcoming the Biggest Lie Ever Told

The biggest lie ever told-we've all heard it growing up; "Follow your dreams." I'm here to tell you how this idea is highly impractical and how to overcome this age old dilemma of dreams being something that leads us. For one moment just ponder this idea; you open a door and before you is your dream and it says, "Take my hand and follow me. I will take you to where you want to be." You reach out and take its hand. Wherever it goes, you follow and eventually you arrive to your dream. Do you see how impractical this idea is? A dream does not lead one, it motivates him. As such, we do not arrive to our dreams but, we live them. The notion of following ones dream, implies in our mind that it will happen or it will not. It doesn't create action but, stifles it.

Create your dreams. That's the only way to live them. You see, our dreams are instilled in us. They are a spark of interest and a fire of desire. For those that do not feel they have a dream, I ask you this; What is your perfect idea of health, wealth, love, happiness and spirituality? These are our destinies and in order to live our grandest version of each of them we must visualize them in reality. These destinies--They are our dreams. And since we can't follow dreams and must create them instead, I have created for you, a blue-print.

30,000 feet above you, a door lies in the midst of your journey through this life. Everyone has this door. It's our dreams. This door is the manifestation of them in this reality. To get to this door we must be willing to build the staircase. The repetition of these 5 key steps will ensure with inevitability; the achievement of your wildest dreams.

1. Exercise - This may sound like aerobics and heavy lifting but, it is the opposite. In this system I refer to exercise as a means of growing your knowledge base. There are a multitude of ways to exercise your mind; reading, listening, observing etc. Anyway that allows you to digest new information from qualified sources is exercise. What's more is this information must become knowledge. In order for information to become knowledge we must first repeat it. Take notes, write things down, make voice recordings and videos. Tell people and lead discussions. This information will become knowledge if you do these things.

2. Train - It is vital to any knowledge we may have that we can intelligently apply it to real life scenarios. This knowledge that you worked hard to learn must now be translated into real experience. True understanding does not come from studying but from experience. This is where you conduct experiments and discover results. This is where you fail often but expect not, success nor failure but, results. Failing is a vital part of our training and we must each learn to do it well. This is where we discover what works and what does not and we repeat what does and document but discard what does not! this my friends, is where you learn your own process and strategy. It's where you tune you vision with your coordination.

3. Rest - What happens when you visualize? That was the key question when a group of scientists decided to test the brains of top performing athletes. They found that when you visualize something in your mind, your brain creates new neural pathways. This means that when we visualize, our brains actually believe that it happened! When we visualize our dream or when we visualize a win - Our brains "feel" and "see" this happening and your mind wants nothing more than to make this vision a reality. That's why this step is also crucial to the manifestation of your dreams. Great men and women through out history have told us that they had a vision for their life, when will you? Furthermore, when will you decide to be great?

4. Attain - It's incredibly simple. Now that you have a vision to work towards you can begin creating long term and short term goals to get you there. These goals are abstract and out of reach at first but then they become literal steps you can take. Attain goals consistently, large and small. Over time you will have created a staircase and through your journey, you will be living the dream before you ever truly reach the door. Don't be fooled, you will never arrive to your dreams, you will live them each day. It takes consistency and persistence. It takes daily practice and it's tough, but so are you.

5. Rewire - This step is the most important step of them all and the most difficult thing to do. Sadly, most people will not achieve this step. Throughout our lives we have been unconsciously programming our minds to act in such a way. Unfortunately we were not taught about the powerful subconscious mind. To put it into perspective; of the 400 million processes our brain goes through in one second, we are only aware of about 2,000 of them. We must rewire our subconscious minds to act habitually on our dreams. How do we do that? By repeating the above steps on a day to day basis. We must start with baby steps, sometimes only working on our dream for 10 minutes a day and later this transforms into 1 hour and 4! Then it amplifies to 14 and even 24 hours! In order to rewire your brain you must act on these daily for 67 days. That is the time in which habits become, well, habits. Create the habit of success and create your dreams. The question is now, what is your next move?
